Yankee Stadium, the House That Ruth Built and Steinbrenner abandoned 85 years later, without question the most storied of sports arenas, was the site of feats of baseball artistry as well as memorable football games off season and iconic boxing matches.
In the 1940s and 1950s, when being a Yankee fan figured large in the sense one had of one's self, I attended games with some frequency.
